Herbal Medicine Ingredients

All natural diet pills contain herbal ingredients, many of which have a long history of use as medicine. Compared to the isolated chemical compounds created in laboratories that are used in pharmaceutical diet pills, all natural herbal diet pills are healthier, safer and usually even more effective.

Listed below are some of the most commonly found herbal medicine ingredients in diet pills:

  • Citrus aurantium – Commonly known as Bitter Orange, this herb has a long tradition of use as a flavoring for foods, drinks and perfumes. It also is used as an all natural herbal stimulant and appetite suppressant.

  • Commiphora mukul – The resin of this tree produces an active ingredient known as guggul or guggulsterone. A traditional Ayurvedic herb used to lower cholesterol and treat acne, guggul stimulates the thyroid gland which increases metabolism, and as a result, you burn more fat.

  • Garcinia cambogia – This herb has a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine. Its active ingredient is hydroxycitric acid or HCA. HCA inhibits the pancreatic alpha-amylase and intestinal alpha-glucosidase enzymes from storing carbs as fat. Instead, carbs are immediately converted into energy.

  • Green tea leaf extract (Camellia sinensis) – Green tea leaf has multiple health benefits which is why it is has become a popular ingredient in many beverages. With regards to weight loss, green tea leaf has thermogenic properties that promote fat oxidation. The more scientific term for fat oxidation is 'beta oxidation'. Fat is stored in very large molecules called triglycerides. The body breaks down those fat molecules into smaller ones called free fatty acids that are then used to create energy.

  • Gymnema sylvestre – Another staple of Ayurvedic medicine, its Hindi name Gur-mar literally translates as ‘sugar destroyer’. It is known to reduce blood sugar and cholesterol, and to curb cravings for sweets.

  • Hoodia gordonii – The use of Hoodia is believed to go back 27,000 years, making it the oldest known weight loss herbal ingredient known to man! Known as Xhoba in its native South Africa, Hoodia gordonii is eaten by the indigenous San Bushmen to suppress hunger and thirst during times of drought and famine. Today Hoodia has found a new purpose helping obese people lose weight by suppressing their appetite in a safe and healthy way.

  • Rhodiola rosea – An amazing plant that grows at extremely high altitudes in severe climates, the Rhodiola rosea has been used for centuries in Russia and Scandinavia where long, cold, hard winters frequently cause depression, anxiety, stress and weight gain. Rhodiola rosea suppresses appetite, elevates mood, increases energy and helps the body adapt to stress -   all of which promote healthy weight loss.
