There are so many diet pill and weight loss supplements out there, it's hard to separate the hype from the real thing.  By now, you've probably heard about the incredible appetite suppressant properties of Hoodia gordonii, and you may have seen some pretty unbelievable claims.  Well, here at Weight Loss Guide, we aim to set the record straight:  Based on the feedback and responses we've received it appears Hoodia does hold some significant promises. And as for being the most incredible weight loss plant - this clearly depends on the plant source and the brand maker.

Unfortunately, whenever something this good comes along, scammers and shysters are drawn to it before those in need can reap the benefits from its discovery. This time however, consumers are fortunate in that it must be disclosed on their labels. If you want to know if a product is truly pure, read the label. If the "Other Ingredients" section says "NONE" you can be reasonably sure that it's PURE. On the other hand, if it says "silica, cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, potassium bicarbonate", or anything other than the word "NONE" you know without a doubt that it is NOT PURE!



3. C.I.T.E.S. and CERTIFICATES: C.I.T.E.S. and Certificates seen on some Websites can be helpful, but here, again, not all things are as they appear. Many of these documents have been stolen and falsified (including some genuine documents which have been stolen and doctored so many times over, we barely recognize them anymore). Now they're all over the Internet selling fake Hoodia pills. In the midst of this craziness, customers without time to do the necessary research, or who cannot afford real Hoodia, fall victim to unscrupulous vendors online and in their neighborhood corner stores.



4. THE OLD SPECIMEN TRICK: By far the easiest and most convincing method of pulling the wool over the customer's eyes is by obtaining genuine Certificates of Analysis to display on a Website, based on genuine Hoodia specimens that were submitted to a lab. Most people do not stop to think that these Certificates are issued only for the specimens and not the products themselves. Tests show that many of these products (which cannot name specifically for fear of being sued) have absolutely no Hoodia gordonii at all, and those that do have hardly any Hoodia to speak of.



5. THE OLD SHORT-CHANGE TRICK: Unfortunately, most customers don't have high-end digital scales at home - and corrupt Hoodia vendors know this. Recent investigations shows these vendors are short-changing their customers by giving them as much as 250mg less Hoodia per capsule. Despite being in direct violation of Federal labeling laws, they continue to carry on this practice, hoping no one notices. To make matters worse, most of the the powder may even be counterfeit Hoodia to begin with. But these scammers know no limits. They're not afraid to pull double, triple, or even multiple bags of tricks all at the same time.

• Years in Business: When you're searching for genuine, effective, safe Hoodia gordonii weight loss supplements, one thing to look out for is a company that's been in business longer than just the last couple of weeks.  Remember that when Hoodia was mentioned on the CBS TV program "60 Minutes" a few years back, it started a sensational wave of interest in this "miracle dieting cure."  Don't fall for the copycats who only just started selling their fake Hoodia products recently.

There is no question that, second only to continuous random testing, this is the best foolproof way of knowing that what you're buying is what you're actually getting. It's also important to note that of the 3-4 products in the U.S. containing Hoodia, all except for one are padded with fillers. Don't allow yourself to be fooled because it's cheap, they offer free shipping, or they claim to have it at the corner store.
