PediaLean Diet Pills Review
PediaLean, by Klein Becker, is a diet pill specifically designed to combat obesity in children. In fact, they claim they are "the first and only clinically proven, safe, and effective weight loss diet control compound designed for children and adolescents." With scientific looking packaging and a name that sounds like a pharmaceutical company, these weight loss products are obviously trying to mimic the appearance of a weight loss drug. They even gave their product’s single ingredient a trademarked name, "Pediatropin," to go along with their product’s pharmaceutical image.
Is there actually something to this diet supplement Pediatropin, and does it really specifically target fast weight loss in children? The ingredient called Pediatropin is actually Proteinophallus Rivieri/Araceae (tuber), whose active ingredient is more commonly known as Glucomannan. A soluble fiber made from the Konjac plant, Glucomannan absorbs water and swells in the stomach and gastrointestinal tract, supposedly producing a feeling of fullness and satiety. It also apparently helps regulate blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels and improves the health of the bowels.
Is this product in any way specifically for children? No. Plenty of other diet supplements for adults contain Glucomannan. In fact, all of the clinical studies on Glucomannan were conducted with adults, not children. Is it actually effective for weight-control like they claim? Well, one clinical study showed that 1000mg (1 gram) of Glucomannan taken with water before meals resulted in a small amount of weight loss. We’re talking a little over 2 pounds in an entire month – not anything to write home about. Beyond that one study, however, it has not been thoroughly tested for its applications in quick weight loss. And certainly PediaLean itself has not been clinically tested.
Perhaps this is why Klein Becker was sued by the FTC for unsubstantiated claims related to PediaLean. Children’s little bodies are so different from adults’ bodies, and they are still developing. Without proper research, how could Klein Becker even know if this product would be safe for children?
Look, this product does not include any ingredients that would increase the fat burning that would lead to weight loss. All Glucomannan does is provide a little extra fiber to bring on a feeling of fullness so the child hopefully will consume less calories. Perhaps if parents fixed healthier meals with more fiber and less calories, they could bring about the same, if not better, results and save the $80.
Conclusion: Because this product contains only one ingredient that has not been proven safe or effective for weight loss in children, Weight Loss Guide.com does not recommend the purchase of Pedialean Diet Pills.
