Fad Diets or Healthy Diets: Spot the Phony Diet
There are a lot of people out there trying to
lose weight; however, there are just as many diets out there as there are
people searching for the right diet. The World Wide Web is jam-packed with fad
diets and diet pills. The key is to be able to distinguish between a diet
that is reputable and a diet that is simply a scam. Here are a few tips to help
you make that final decision.
First of all, be sure to stay away from anything that promises fast weight loss.
There is really no such thing. Weight loss is a slow and steady process and
there are certain herbal remedies
out there that can help you shed your unwanted pounds, but there is no magical
pill that will help you lose 5 pounds in 2 days. Other diets to avoid include
ones that are centered on a single food. Any diet that encourages such poor
nutrition is nothing but a scam. You can't be expected to survive on a single
food. Our bodies need a wide range of minerals, vitamins, protein, fiber, etc.
Another red flag should come from any diet that does not encourage physical
activity. Exercise is very important when
quick weight loss is the goal. Any diet that does not encourage a healthy
diet along with physical activity is not worth your time. You should also stay
away from diets that market weight loss success without offering properly
conducted peer reviewed research. Be sure that the diet you are interested in
has sufficient research to back up their hypothesis. Don't simply trust the
flashing website banner that reads "weight loss guaranteed with our diet pill," do some research
and see why weight loss is guaranteed it and who approved that guarantee. These
are just a few tips to help you find the most effective diet.
